January Round Up And Future Thoughts
It is fair to say I did it pretty tough Poker wise in January. I had what was my first consistent spell of run bad at NL50 which lead to me spewing quite a bit and also my first real tilt in well over 2 months.
I ended the month down nearly 5 buy ins after setting off the month like a house on fire. The biggest swing in the month came at the end with me dropping over 9 buy ins which is probably also my biggest downswing by quite some distance in over a year of Poker. At the end of the month I only managed to win 5 sessions out of my last 23.
Strange game is Poker that I did more work on my game in this month than I have probably down in any month in the past 3 years and feel that my game has come on quite a bit. I am 6 hours in to coaching with a mid stakes player and I feel I am learning a ton of stuff and my game is moving on but my problems with spew have held me back once again and this is also something that I am working on with my mental coach Elliot Roe.
It was also in this month that I made the decision to stop posting as much in the FR forum on 2+2. I wouldnt be surprised if I spent between 30-60 minutes a day on there posting advice on what on the whole are pretty straight forward and easy spots. That time could be a lot better spent by actually working on my own game instead of trying to help others out. I will still be posting in threads in PG&C and the odd thread in the FR forum but I am going to be keeping it to a minimum as the time at the moment could be a lot better spent elsewhere when it comes to poker.
There are a ton of areas that I need to work on and that is my focus now. I know what a lot of the problems are and it is a case now of how much do I want it and how much I can change the bad habits in my game.
